Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a calming therapeutic massage of the upper back, shoulders, head, neck and face, that can ease tension and release accumulated stress, leaving you feeling revitalised and stimulated.

Originating in India dating back to 600BC, it was used as a grooming technique using oils to strengthen and condition the hair. The treatment was brought from India to Britain in 1973 by an osteopath and massage therapist, Narendra Mehta.

Indian Head Massage has many physiological and emotional benefits; improving muscle tension, joint mobility and circulation, stimulating lymphatic drainage aiding the removal of toxins.

It can relieve physical and mental stress, headaches, insomnia, bruxism, eyestrain, sinus congestion and boost concentration.  It may also improve hair loss, thinning and alopecia.

Indian Head Massage is a refreshing and energising treatment that has many health benefits.

Wearing light clothing during the treatment, you will be invited to take a seat on a low backed chair for the first part of the treatment, to massage the upper back and shoulders.

You can then lay back and relax in a comfortable recliner chair for the rest of the treatment which includes a variety of firm but gentle massage techniques on the face, scalp, neck, arms and hands, helping to unblock the tension and rejuvenate the mind and body.

No oil is used unless client specifies.
